Meaning of the word change
I'm not sure about the meaning stated here. I'm from India, and AFAIK, "chai" refers to normal tea. Although enwikt doesn't agree, enWP does seem to agree with me. If I assume enWP is correct, then the given definition is for masala chai, ie, spiced tea and not for chai, which refers to normal tea. Regards, Pmlineditor ∞ 17:41, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
- I always thought "chai" referred to Eastern varieties of tea. Maybe usage varies depending where you live. ("Chai" is normal tea in Russian, so I may be getting confused.) Perhaps check what Merriam-Webster or Oxford have to say? Tempodivalse [talk] 18:30, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
- I think clearly it means different things in different places. Here in Canada, the normal word is tea. Chai is typically used for Indian-style spiced tea. Feel free to add to the definition.--Brett (talk) 21:48, 14 January 2011 (UTC)
