Adding flexitions

When you're adding participles, be aware of the possibility for adjectives and nouns. Just very quickly, if you can put very before it, it's an adjective. If you can make it plural, it's a noun.--Brett 15:01, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Oh! Can you tell me to which article you refer, please? Just that I can look, whyt I did wrong. Barras || talk 16:20, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
There are quite a number. An example of an adjective is rewarding. An example of a noun is sacking.--Brett 21:16, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ah, now I understand. You mean this. I'll take care of it. Thanks for the advice. Barras || talk 21:19, 7 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes, or like this. This unsigned comment was added by Brett (talk • contribs) 00:53, 11 August 2009 (UTC).Reply

Interwikis

Hi there. When you are adding new articles here, could you please check the English Wiktionary for any pronunciations and could you please make sure to include the interwiki links? Thanks, Razorflame 19:21, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Hey Flamy. I will look for the pronunciations. The interwikis aren't that important, because they will be add by the interwiki bot. Barras || talk 19:33, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
The interwikis are important because of the fact that if you create a page without any interwiki links, then the bot will not add them because the bot will not have any page to reference for additional interwiki links and therefore, will not add or remove any interwiki links. Cheers, Razorflame 22:21, 17 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
In the case, that the pages have the same name as enwikt, the bot will the interwikis still add as the bot did here and here. Normally, the pages have the sam ename as enwikt. So there is no need to add them manually. Barras || talk 12:27, 18 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Clean deletion reasons

Hi there Barras. I've enabled the "clean deletion reasons" gadget that is enabled on the Simple English Wikipedia here. Basically, it removes the "Content was: <insert content here>" from the end of the deletion log. The reason why you should enable it is because the content is sometimes very vulgar and could possibly reveal personal information, so to prevent the need to have to use an oversighter to hide the revision, it is good to use this gadget as it will prevent the content from being shown in the deletion log, which is permanent and cannot be removed without the use of an oversighter. I believe that it can be instated from the "my settings" button in the top right corner of the screen. Cheers, Razorflame 22:02, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Well, I just saw it in the deletion log, that a lot of deletions were made with the tool disabled. Therefore, I dicided to disable it for me too. But in this way, it's better to enable the tool. Barras || talk 08:46, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

transwiki

As I said when you originally brought this up, there is very little of value to be transwikied from simple.wiki. The current entry for settler exemplifies this well. There is essentially nothing left of the original entry. It would be far less work to simply create new entries.--Brett 14:21, 23 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Pronunciations

Please remember to check the English Wiktionary for any pronunciations for any words that you make, including any plurals that you use the acceleration script for. This will help to save some time and effort in the future for other editors. Thanks, Razorflame 13:42, 7 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

When adding pronunciations that include something like {{a|US}} , could you please remove the a| part of that please? Furthermore, if you get anything like RP, could you change that to UK? GenAm is changed to US. Hope this helps, Razorflame 20:18, 20 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Yup, will do so. I saw your change to inspector and made me a notice on my desk right now. Barras (talk) 20:20, 20 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Ok, thanks :). Cheers, Razorflame 20:29, 20 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Patrolling

Please only patrol an entry if you have made all the changes necessary to the entry. This includes:

  1. Checking if there are any additional parts of speech that have been missed.
  2. Checking if there are any pronuncation sections on the English Wiktionary
  3. Checking if the countable/uncountable tags are placed where needed.
  4. Checking to make sure that the page follows the style guidelines that we use here.
  5. Checking to make sure that everything is the way it is supposed to be.

If you need any additional help with this, see my user talk and read the section called patrolling made by Tygrrr for more help. Thanks, Razorflame 21:01, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

If I remember right, the patroling is just to look if the article is free from vandalism and meets the basic crieteria. The patroling isn't really to look if the article is complete, is it? THe patroling is just that others know someone (an admin) have had a look at the article and the article is free from vandalism and follows the basic formatting guidlines. This is my interpretation of "patroling". Barras 21:18, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Both me and Tygrrr use the patrol function to help us know which articles still need to be looked over to make sure that everything is there. If you continue to do this, it will throw us off and we will end up spending more time looking over articles that have already been looked over, and wasting more time doing this. Cheers, Razorflame 22:26, 10 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
But you both know, that this normally isn't the goal of the patrol function? Barras 06:36, 11 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Of course, but this is just the way that we use it here. Surely, you could understand our intentions, right? Razorflame 14:07, 12 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I understand. I'll keep away from patroling. Barras 15:16, 12 September 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for understanding :). Cheers, Razorflame 15:59, 12 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Rollback

Good Morning :) I was wondering if it would be possible to get rollback rights here to help with the occasional vandalism. I currently have rollback rights on SimpleWP verify and on EnWP verify. Jamesofur 11:59, 13 September 2009 (UTC)Reply

Review

Examples like the one in review are not helpful. They include the word, but they fail to exemplify it. In the example, the word in question is more likely to be a breath, sleep, sense, voice, sigh, hole, understanding, recession, interest, love, colour, etc. than it is to be an evaluative comment.--Brett (talk) 14:26, 11 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I changed the example. Is it better now? Barras (talk) 14:41, 11 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

Pronunciation

Do you add pronunciations manually or do you have a helper script for this task? Just wondering :) --Skenmy talk 18:25, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

I do it manually. I don't know if there is a script. Just look at the enwikt page. Sometimes you will find the pronunciation. Barras (talk) 18:26, 16 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
If you find any {{a|UK}} or {{a|US}}, could you kindly remove the a| so that it is just {{US}} and {{UK}}? Thanks! Other kinds you might come across: {{a|GenAm}} --> {{US}} {{a|RP}} --> {{UK}} Hope this helps! Razorflame 02:30, 17 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
I think I removed this a always when I find pros... Barras (talk) 09:06, 17 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
Great! I just wasn't sure whether or not you knew about the RP and GenAm things....anyways, have a nice day! Razorflame 18:31, 17 October 2009 (UTC)Reply
