Redirect

Hi, DaneGeld. What's the point of the redirect from beef (meat)?--Brett (talk) 21:13, 23 September 2017 (UTC)

Hi Brett. It was a little forward planning for something which is now no longer needed. Someone at the simple English wikipedia created an article for Beef, but included 2 definitions - Beef as meat, and Beef as an argument or feud with someone. I split that down into two articles, Beef (meat) and Beef (slang), with the idea that the two separate articles would direct to the same article. Our wiktionary template uses the title of the article, and tries to send the user here, to an article of the same title - so Beef (meat) would send the user to simple.wiktionary.org/wiki/beef (meat), rather than Beef. That's why I created the redirect; a second one was going to be made, but it's no longer needed now. My article on Beef as slang is up for deletion there, so it's all been undone.
