  1. You add "dis-" to the front of verbs, adjectives, adverbs, or nouns to make them mean the opposite or negative or their usual meaning.
    The opposite of honesty is dishonesty.
    If two people disagree, they do not agree.
  2. You add "dis-" to the front of a verb, it adds a meaning of "away" or "apart".
    If you dismiss somebody, you send them away.
    If you dispurse seeds, you spread them out on the ground.
