  1. (transitive) If you fling something somewhere, you throw or push it away strongly, often carelessly or with strong emotion.
    He grabbed a book and flung it across the room angrily.
    The passenger door was flung open and a man jumped out.
    She walked in, shut the door, flung herself on her bed, and started to cry.

  2. (transitive) If you fling words at somebody, you say angry things to them.
