To be simple is important. It does not mean something that is vague and incomplete in meanings. It should be easy and clear. This is the key point.
My view on Wikitionary change
Famous dictionaries list many examples for readers' convenience. What's more, it is more important to show a source for a definition and its example. Otherwise, reliability of this Wiktionary (dictionary) may be reduced, because everyone can freely post he or her own definition. In that situation, I am afraid that some readers will look up at other dictionaries, such as American Heritage's or Webster's in order to make sure that definition in Wikitionary is worth reliable. Dictionaries sold in the market sometimes record references for respective articles.
