Hello, Skenmy, and welcome to the Simple English Wiktionary!

We hope you will be happy editing here. Some helpful pages to begin with are Wiktionary:Community Portal, Wiktionary:Useful, Help:Contents, Wiktionary:Rules, and Wiktionary:How to edit.

If you want to talk with other members or ask a question, you can visit Wiktionary:Simple talk. Administrators can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. Just remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.

Good luck and happy editing! --Barras || talk 16:12, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Your edits

change

Nice job on origin! I've made some changes to reflect the style here. Also, it seems like you might be unclear on the distinction between countable and uncountable. If so, I can explain.--Brett 18:48, 22 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks again for all your edits. Remember that everything should be simple. Words like leaderboard should be avoided. In general, there should be no need to use links in the examples.--Brett 19:01, 29 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

I have made some further modifications to origin. Please make sure to look on the English Wiktionary for any pronunciations that they might have and include them as I did on origin. Thanks, Razorflame 18:50, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply

Projects

change

Some projects that I'd like to see are making sure that all the BNC1, BNC2, and AWL words have the most common synonyms (from WordNet) and all the derivationally related words. You can find the related words for the BN1 and BNC2 here and here. The most frequent synonyms can be found in the Corpus of Current American English. Your query would be like this: [=word] (including the square brackets). At the bottom, click "click to see options" and select "Group words by lemmas".--Brett 12:39, 30 August 2009 (UTC)Reply
