Hello, Fr33kman, and welcome to the Simple English Wiktionary!

We hope you are happy editing here. Some helpful pages to begin with are Wiktionary:Community Portal, Wiktionary:Useful, Help:Contents, Wiktionary:Rules, and Wiktionary:How to edit.

If you want to talk with other members or ask a question, you can visit Wiktionary:Simple talk. Administrators can also help you with more difficult problems. You can also ask me for help. The best way to do that is to leave a message on my talk page. Just remember to sign your messages on talk pages by typing "~~~~" (four tildes) at the end of your words.

Good luck and happy editing! Razorflame 23:44, 18 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Thanks Razor! Nice to see you (understand you mop up around here :) fr33kman t - c 02:19, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yep, that I do. We could definitely use some more active users here, so definitely edit here if you think you can be of any assistance here :). Cheers, Razorflame 02:21, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yeah I certainly will be editing here. I have created dozens and dozens of interwikis from Wikipedia to here and have a list of them that I'll be doing here (many of them don't exist here yet) :) fr33kman t - c 02:22, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Good to hear :). Cheers, Razorflame 02:28, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

A tip

change

When creating pages such as signals that are regular nouns and plurals, you can just use

{{noun|signal}} to get the same result :). Just a friendly little tip ;). Cheers, Razorflame 02:30, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

What about the verb forms of it, do they go on the same page too? fr33kman t - c 02:31, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes, all the parts of speech go on the same page. I have added it to the page for you :). Also, if the verb is an irregular verb, use {{verb2}} instead. Cheers, Razorflame 02:32, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Thanks! I'll get around to reading the help pages soon :) fr33kman t - c 02:34, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Eh...turns out there are two different ways of saying signaled and signaling...apparently, the United Kingdom spells it with two "l"s XD. Another one of those tricky verbs ;). Cheers, Razorflame 02:35, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply
Yes, but then ... we did invent the language ;) fr33kman t - c 02:37, 19 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Adminship

change

Hello Fr33kman. I've granted you adminship here on simple WT per what I said on ST. Please keep in mind to only use the tools when obviously no local regular admin is around. Use the tools wisely. If there is no rush for doing something with the tool (random IP creates a nonsense-testpage), so please keep in mind that this is mostly not urgent and can/should wait for a normal/regular admin. If you wish to be a regular admin, you will have to make a formal request here. As a summary, this is an adminship with some restriction as you aren't a real regular on this wiki. Have fun with the tools! Kind regards Barras talk 22:52, 14 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Thank you! I shall honour the respect and trust the community has placed in me by giving me emergency sysop rights. fr33kman t - c 22:56, 14 February 2010 (UTC)Reply
Hello! I've removed your sysop rights per per this on WT:ST as global sysops were elected. Thanks for your service! Barras talk 20:06, 14 March 2010 (UTC)Reply

Chance of Sockpuppetry

change

Hi there! I am suspicious about a user who had recently joined Wiktionary. The user's name is called MichaelSeara. This user has a username in common with another user to joined about a few hours ago, Michaeldyelp. Is there a way you could investigate into these two users and possibly globally lock them? Thank you. Celeste369 ( Hey There!) 19:49, 15 October 2023 (UTC)Reply

Hi, I'm no longer a sysop here or a steward so I can't take any action, sorry. You can make an appeal for a global lock by going to this page. As they've made no edits yet the stewards will probably not lock the accounts at this time. I'd advise you to monitor the situation and go to the stewards when they've made some suspect edits. To let you know, having two accounts is not sockpuppetry in and of itself, it only become an offence if they start supporting each other or vandalize the project. Take care! :) fr33kman t - c 19:55, 15 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Yes, I was thinking of doing that, but sadly, I'm not an autoconfirmed user yet. What am I able to do? Celeste369 ( Hey There!) 19:59, 15 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
For now, I'd recommend you do nothing except monitor the situation. If it becomes a problem let me know here and I'll take it to the stewards myself. You can also enlist the help of a Global Sysop on meta. fr33kman t - c 20:01, 15 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
Okay, thanks! Celeste369 ( Hey There!) 20:02, 15 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
You are very welcome. :) fr33kman t - c 20:03, 15 October 2023 (UTC)Reply
