Resign change

Due to time constraints and inactivity here, I am resigning my adminship. The next bureaucrat who sees this, please remove my admin flag. Kind regards, Maximillion Pegasus (talk) 15:40, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Y Done - Thanks for your service. I've added you the rollback group in the case you wanna to help. Best -Barras talk 20:22, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Pity to see you left, but understandable. I'm sure the community will be happy to reinstate your rights should you decide to return. Tempodivalse [talk] 22:09, 3 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Remove my admin flag change

Due to lack of time for editing in the foreseeable future, I'll like to resign my flags. The next crat to see this, please remove the admin flag. Cheers, Pmlineditor  16:28, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Y Removed, sorry to see you go. Hope you'll be able to return sometime. Cheers, Tempodivalse [talk] 16:33, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Sad to see you go. -Barras (talk) 17:05, 27 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
I believe I can get active in this wiki from now on, so, seeing that I gave up the right in good faith, it would be great if it could be restored, if the community sees fit. Cheers, Pmlineditor  12:58, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome back! Right granted. -Barras (talk) 13:08, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, Barras. Regards, Pmlineditor  13:34, 13 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

rename request change

The next bureaucrat that sees this, please rename me to "Frozen Wind". Cheers, I-20 (talk) 21:07, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Y Done - per this request and the recent rename on Wikipedia. -Barras (talk) 21:24, 29 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia change

There's some ambiguity as to which wikipedia our interwiki links would lead to. For example, [[:wikipedia:Wikipedia]] points to the English Wikipedia, but I want it to point to the Simple English Wikipedia instead. Is there any way that this could be changed? TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 05:24, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This can be resolved by using [[:w:]] instead of [[:wikipedia:]]. Cheers, Arbitrarily0 (talk) 02:30, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Ah, thank you. As you can probably tell, some of the wikisyntax is still relatively new to me. TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 04:57, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The script has created a rather large number of cross-namespace redirects from Mediawiki-->Template. If an admin could go through and delete some of these (they are quite unnecessary) that'd be appreciated. TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 19:34, 2 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Are these redirects unuseful, so to speak? Arbitrarily0 (talk) 02:31, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
That I cannot say for sure; as with any mediawiki message, the consequences of interacting them are hard to tell, imo, but I know that they are widely used throughout the mediawiki software, and redirects like these can be bad for it, not to mention the fact that I cannot be actually redirected by the mediawiki interface page in any way. TeleComNasSprVen (talk) 04:57, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Just to inform you guys, the page for reporting vandalism is set up. Please monitor that page for new reports. Thanks! Hydriz (talk) 16:05, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Completely unneeded. Post block requests here. This just means one more page to watch and we rarely get reports anyway... -Barras (talk) 16:45, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
In the future. Just create it and leave it. :) Hydriz (talk) 16:46, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

User:A Thousand Nightmares Coming Your Way change

  Resolved.

As a simplewiki checkuser I'd strongly recommend an indef block of this account. This account is confirmed by simplewiki CU to be the banned socker Editor XXV. fr33kman t - c 12:39, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I already blocked and was aware of this. A steward confirmed this earlier per my meta request. Thanks for the info, anyway! -Barras (talk) 12:40, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just trying to justify my small salary :P :) fr33kman t - c 12:45, 3 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User:Acaiberryscams change

I am a New-changes patroller. Apparently the aforementioned user has a promotional name about Acai Berries. I'd recommend a temporary block of this account. Thanks, admins. Wpeaceout - Let's have a talk 20:22, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

User has been globally locked by Wutsje, as it was cross-wiki spam. Thanks, Savh (talk) 20:24, 26 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Abusing multiple accounts change

Just a heads-up, I've blocked several of the recent usernames created here for abusing multiple accounts. It's obvious they have been created by one person, since they share a pattern and have been created in the space of a few minutes. This is the second straight day odd or inappropriate usernames have been created en masse. Please keep an eye on the new user log, thanks. Tempodivalse [talk] 20:44, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Do they really need to be blocked? A person is allowed to have multiple accounts, and it's fine as long as they don't use them to break rules... Other than creating a bunch of accounts, I don't see any real abuse. I'll leave it to the admins though. :) --Gordonrox24 | Talk 20:57, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I don't really agree with such blocks. I've seen several times that people create several accounts (Seeing it as a checkuser). It is allowed to have several accounts. As long as they aren't abused (double voting in RfXs, vandalism, etc), it is fine to create as many accounts as you wish. You are not restricted to one account. It is just not allowed to abuse multiple accounts. Of course it useful to keep an aye on those accounts, but such blocks as you've done now shouldn't be done. -Barras (talk) 21:26, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I can easily remove the blocks, but it nonetheless seemed highly suspicious. This is the second straight day of mass account-creations. (And the usernames all appear to be joke/nonsense sentences, not anything an average person would choose.) We've had them in the past, where they were created by a malbot. I will undo the blocks due to the opposition above, but it's still good to keep a sharp lookout for them. Tempodivalse [talk] 21:32, 1 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Requesting for bot flag change

I am requesting for a bot flag on my bot, HydrizBot. This bot is operational whenever I run a script and currently, it is putting interwiki links on new pages. Hydriz (talk) 14:49, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Y Approved for the interwiki task and also flagged. -Barras (talk) 14:52, 9 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Just to inform my fellows: I've just deflagged several bots which where not active for one/two or even more years. Some of the operators aren't really active anymore and it's better to see the changes of the bot after a very long absence. Things changes and maybe people don't remember for what the bot has been approved and do other (controversial) tasks. If any of this users ask for the flag back because the want to use the bot again, then it is no problem to just re-grant the flag. Best, -Barras (talk) 23:24, 23 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Steward elections change

Hey fellows! There are soon Steward elections on meta. If there is someone who always wanted to become a steward and fulfils the criteria then feel free to nominate yourself. Nominations can be submitted between 21st August and 7th September. We need more helping hands. If someone has questions what it means to be a steward, we have many people locally who can answer this question. Maybe someone from our community decides to run for this position. Best, -Barras (talk) 12:08, 15 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Name change change

Christianrocker90 --> CRRaysHead90

Pakistani POV-pusher now active here change

Hi all! We seem to have attracted the so-called Pakistani POV-pusher. This user is community banned over on simpleWP, and tries to do the same things now here too. He changes everything Pakistan/India related stuff to Pakistan stuff, replaces images etc. to promote Pakistan over other things. I've just right now reverted a whole punch of his last edits here. I for one will just block him next time he appears and I can only suggest that other admins do the same. Just letting you know! -Barras (talk) 18:07, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

What does he do exactly? Vandalism, spamming, or trolling? Because this is a relatively small and very quiet project, the choice is up to yours since the community consists of only a few people. —stay (sic)! 22:04, 26 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Basically it's vandalism as they change facts according to their POV. I agree with Barras about blocking them whenever they appear. Pmlineditor (t · c · l) 11:52, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Simpler words than "Comparative" and "Superlative" change

In simple English style, shouldn't we use words like "big"-"bigger"-"biggest" or something instead of "Positive"-"Comparative"-"Superlative"? --Mattsains (talk) 16:01, 7 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
